Of Counsel
Sarah Koong is a Co-Founding Partner of Koong Law Group, PLLC, where she advises clients on business, real estate, tax, estate planning, and property-protection matters. She co-founded the firm in 2015 with her husband and partner, John Koong, combining her legal training with substantial business and financial experience to deliver strategic, practical counsel.
Prior to law practice, Sarah was in retail finance at JPMorgan Chase, holding Series 6 and Series 63 FINRA licenses and Texas state insurance licenses, experience that continues to inform her comprehensive approach to risk management, growth, and asset protection. During law school, Sarah trained under the mentorship of civil litigator Lawrence Labanowski, and gained additional experience at Horrigan, Goehrs, Edwards & Culp, LLP, a probate litigation and administration firm, building a strong foundation in complex disputes and estate matters. She also served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Michael Wood of Harris County Probate Court No. 2, gaining firsthand insight into probate and guardianship proceedings.
In 2025, Sarah co-founded Gulfgate Legal Aid in Houston with Chi-Hung David Nguyen of Nguyen Injury Law Firm, PLLC, and Vu Nguyen of Nguyen & Associates Injury Law Firm to expand access to legal services for indigenous Texans. As a first-generation American, Sarah brings both an entrepreneurial mindset and a deep commitment to community-focused advocacy to her practice.
